Responsible business is not only about caring for the local community, education or social welfare in general. It is also support for various types of organizations that provide help and care to animals - often those who are abused, deprived of home and love. That is why we got involved in helping the shelter in Racławice.
27 new kennels for dogs. A small gesture, a big change for the shelter
Winter 2026 has been one of the most demanding in Poland in years. In many regions, temperatures dropped to -25°C, and the frost lasted for long weeks. Such conditions were felt by everyone - drivers, road workers, residents of cities and villages. However, this time was especially difficult for animals staying in shelters. For many of them, winter is not only a discomfort. This is a real threat to health, and sometimes life.Winter, which showed the scale of the problem
There are several hundred animal shelters in Poland. Some of them are well equipped and supported by local communities. However, many are still struggling with serious problems. The most common are:- Infrastructure underfunding
- Too few staff and volunteers
- Overcrowding due to the growing number of abandoned animals
Piotrków shelter. A place we know well
Grupa Transportowa has been supporting the Shelter for Homeless Animals in Piotrków Trybunalski for years. It is an institution with which we are connected locally and organizationally. Thanks to the commitment of employees, volunteers and the support of many partners, the shelter develops its infrastructure and provides animals with better and better conditions. That is why this year we decided to take another step. Since the place we know best is functioning stably today and has the necessary infrastructure, it was natural to ask: where is help most needed today?27 new kennels for the shelter in Racławice
The answer to this question was the Psie Pole Animal Shelter in Racławice. A facility that takes care of a large number of animals and at the same time needs infrastructural support. That is why we have decided to finance the purchase of 27 insulated kennels for dogs. The new kennels have already been delivered to the shelter and will serve its charges both in winter and summer - providing protection against frost, wind, rain and heat. The decision to finance the kennels was made by the President of the Management Board of the Transport Group, Tomasz Macherowski: "Helping should not be a reaction to momentary emotions, but a real response to specific needs. In such frosts, a warm shelter is a matter of health and sometimes life for many animals. If we can help with that – we just do it."Responsible business in practice
The activity of companies is more and more often evaluated not only through the prism of financial results, but also through the real impact on the environment. However, it is not about grand declarations or spectacular projects. Sometimes a responsible business looks much simpler - like the decision to finance things that are absolutely basic for animals. For a shelter, it is:- real improvement of living conditions
- Greater safety in winter
- the ability to provide better care for more animals For a company, it is above all the awareness that you can use your position and resources in a way that brings about a specific change.
